I'm really disappointed the miss percentage has been removed. It means as long as ennemies have vision of the higher grounds, you won't benefit from any dodge capabilities from ranged. Which was really important in the Cliffing capabilities of Terrans -_-

I don't care for zoom out - I agree with sc2blog.

Too bad about the lack of gameplay affecting environment elements (rain, snow, etc). I would have liked that for extra variation between maps.

The brood lord does look like the guardian, but that's ok with me. I've got a feeling these zerg features will evolve over the next 2 years. It's a trilogy - It makes sense to have them similar to their starcraft 1 version for this first release, and have new features implemented later.

I also think the nydus worms will be back in the future.

i like a zoom out.
who cares about the art, I want a better view from a different angle.

and yeah, broodlord art is a major disappointment.
same with Nydus worm.

how about give the zerg a completely different mood of mass transport??? A while back, someone say lets shoot the Nydus worm into the sky and land on a spot where the overlord casts the spell on.... that idea will beat the current mode of the nydus worm already.

Why would a zoom out feature ruin Starcraft 2? I don't see the problem. To say that we won't be able to see the artwork on units seems like a stupid argument, and nobody has to zoom out if they don't want to. Also, I understand Blizzard's need to make SC2 super clicky, but it's still disappointing. To be honest, a lot of us SC fans are simply older now, and can't mouse as fast. For features that Blizzard seems to acknowledge the use of, but doesn't want to implement for esport reasons, it seems like a non-sport mode would be a good idea.

Great, now the Brood Lord looks exactly like the old Guardian. And the worm now is like the nydus canal. Where's the originality? Why don't they just put a new skin on the old starcraft engine and call it Starcraft 2?

If I have 5 templars on the mineral line, I'd forget about bringing in a collosus and psi storm the scvs to submission.

I agree with the templar / shield battery mechanic, but it would be cool if it was also an ability of the dark pylon. To balance it, it could be less powerful with more energy recharging less.

It will depend on the cost of the HT, the rate of energy transfer and the ratio of mana to shield energy. It's easy to imagine a situation where bringing 3 Colossi will be > 1 Colossus + 5 HT.

Besides, the HT is probably the most prominent and powerful/useful caster in the game - trading his energy away won't be an easy decision.

the plasma surge can get abusive.. imagine a colossus raiding your cliff line, you bring troops to kill it, but 5 HT keeps recharging it over and over and then the colossus walks up and blow everything up.

I like shield battery, great strategic tool, but I would like it as a dark pylon ability more... make it requiring a building at least...

what ye all think?

I'm surprised to hear that the developers are shying away from implementing new design elements just because it takes further work. This is Blizzard, goshsake. Its nice to hear that they've discussed these options and experimented with them, though.

I hope to see implementation of new design elements in the first expansion.
