Official StarCraft 2 Requirements Officially Denied

An official denial from Blizzard has put an end to the recent rumors surrounding the supposed system requirements for StarCraft 2. Despite the fact the requirements were published in a respectable, well circulated Spanish magazine, they were nothing but fictional.

So the following:

Is nothing but a guess, probably based on the the configuration of the PCs that were used to run StarCraft 2 for the magazine’s reporters.

Healthy logic and some of our readers have suggested that the requirements simply can not be real. While the engine is ready, unit and multiplayer feature configurations can swing the requirements in both directions, and Blizzard has absolutely no reason to commit to any setup at this point.

I’ve been sticking this in several spots trying to get a respones to it:

For the zerg i think a great superweapon would be some kind of bio bomb that would turn all enemy units into broodlings similar to the queen ability in SC 1. give it like the radius of a nuclear missile.

Also I think that it would a great way to balence superweapons if they could backfire.

For instance destroying a nuclear silo with a nuke in it would make it explode then and there. Or have a killed mothership create a black hole and suck in all nearby units.

Or for my suggestion for the zerg the weapon could attack everything nearby and “go crazy” attacking the owner.

Personally I think they should try to make the range on the requirments as big as they can.

Yeah Leroylim20 you sound like a busy businessman, I hope Blizzard hires more programmers and goes into overdrive just to make the release when you are not so busy.

Those req are lie, those cant be thru, or 10% of players could only play the game, and blizzard doesnt want that.

I don’t think Star craft 2 will be that hard of a game to run. I think Blizzard will want to make this game as assessable as possible so everybody can enjoy it. I remember back when the first star craft was released anybody with a PC above a 486 could play star craft, and most people had Pentiums at that point. The same can be said with warcraft 3. Rest assured, if you bought a pc the last 4 or 5 years you should be able to run Starcraft 2 with no problems. Blizzards track record proves it.
