Impressive indeed .. Looking at the game list both company seems to complete each other very well. Blizz is very RTS-MMO-PCRPG oriented, while Activision is more action-console+FPS.

And from what I can see, Activision has a strong background in console gaming which could be put to good use to bring back old franchises from Blizz, such as Blackthorne, Rock&Roll Racing and Lost Vikings. :D

Wouldn't Blizzard vision or Blizz-vision be a better name or did they just want to be higher in the yellow pages?

Given the increasing connections between games and other media (music, movies, etc), it's a surprise that Vivendi is the only media conglomerate buying gaming companies.

You guys are missing out on the positives here... with Activision, promotion for StarCraft II will be even bigger and reach even more people. They have said many times already in all these reports, that nothing changes in regards to Blizzard gaming development.

Quoting rikas:

"You haven’t heard of Activision? Maybe you’re not into games then. It’s a very well known company imo."

Yes, really... I keep track of new games here in the Phils but I haven't heard of Activision. The popular games here are all from Blizzard, Sierra, Nintendo, Sega and that company that made C&C. Maybe they haven't penetrated much in SE Asia.

Anyway, if this helps them improve their development of Starcraft II, then so be it. I don't mind, as long as Starcraft will continue to prevail. En Taro Adun!!!
