It should also use AD&D 3.5ed rules and be an online first-person shooter.

It would be pretty sweet if, after a player was defeated, he could 'possess' one of their surviving allies' units (With that ally's permission, maybe a sort of check box system similar to the diplomacy menu in SC 1) and play as that unit in a first/third person view similar to Starcraft: Ghost, and when that unit was destroyed, he could possess a different unit and so on until the game was won or lost. It would be awesome to march along with an army of marines and witness you're entire battalion get slaughtered by siege tanks/carriers/guardians.

These additions are great and well thought out, but one more that a friend of mine I have theorized would be a more defensive role with marines. In many videos you can see that marines still have very little health, and are murdered by siege tanks and other higher tech units. The only possible way to use marines later in the game would be in bunkers, unlike SC1, where even at the top of the tech tree, a couple teams of upgraded marines could still do quite a bit of damage (take out battle cruisers...). But, the change that we hope could be added to SC2, would be that all structures can multifunction as a temporary bunker/transport. This would allow a retreating Terran player to garrison units into his barracks, engineering bay, etc. and while he is retreating the marines would be attacking out of the structure. To balance this out, the buildings would have no functions when garrisoned and will move slower. I believe that this function will enhance the mobility of the Terrans as well as add to the cinematics. The other minor change that I would advocate would be to make drop pods (from ghosts) into bunkers. It's a shame to see marines abandon their large heat resistant space faring armored pods just to step out and get murdered.
